Military veterans trained to battle child exploitation.
The Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) within U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the graduation of its eleventh class of military veterans from the HERO, Human Exploitation Rescue Operation, program this month. The veterans are part of a federally paid internship to assist HSI with forensic analysis to prevent and rescue children from sexual abuse and to capture and prosecute predators. HERO is supported by the Department of Defense and recruits veterans from all branches of the military.
“This program allows veterans to serve their country on a new battlefield – the fight against child predators,” ICE Acting Deputy Director Patrick Lechleitner stated. “Working with HSI special agents, the HEROs assist with investigations, and help rescue child sexual assault victims – there are few more noble efforts for those who have dedicated their lives in service to this country and who want to continue to do so.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Acting Deputy Director Patrick Lechleitner to seek God’s wisdom as he heads the HERO program.
- For military veterans as they provide critical analysis to track and find exploited children and capture predators.
- For the Lord’s healing for the children who have been rescued.
